Lucid dreaming has fascinated me since I was a teenager. I think it most resonated for me in the line “Dreamer. Here. Awake!” in the movie ‘Late Night with The Devil’ (2024). In the movie, it was a hypnosis prompt but a similar protocol to awaken in a dream.
I have to warn you though, Late Night with The Devil is considered a horror movie!! Waking Life is amazing, big fan of the Before Sunrise series which has a short in Waking Life and also Linklater’s Boyhood too.
Have you tried different reality tests? Some of them have failed me in a dream but the one that has worked every time is holding my nose and trying to breathe through it, which is possible in a dream.
Seems like it's working well for most folks. Haven't read that book. Steven LaBerge's book on lucid dreaming was my go-to for this stuff. These days I do have the occasional spontaneous lucid dream, but I used to be pretty into it and lucid dream quite regularly. Had some wild and mystical experiences for sure. One time, I kept waking up in lucid dream after lucid dream, unable to wake up, and thought I had died because I had just watched the movie Waking Life where one of the characters says that if you keep waking up in another dream it means you've died. Fun times. ^^

Excited for your journey back into lucid dreaming as a means for awakening from the illusion. Following to stay tuned to how it goes!

funny, that's the one I've actually been using. I do find it much more effective/promising. I learned about it in this book: https://www.amazon.com/Lucid-Dreaming-Non-Dual-Realizing-Enlightenment/dp/B08HTJ77CX ..... do you lucid dream?
