Lila had a lifelong intuition that there was so much more to reality than what she was perceiving, and that something about seeing more deeply and clearly also meant freedom. She wanted to "see beyond the veil”. She started meditating in the Zen tradition as an undergraduate at Dartmouth. She went to the Amazon yearly to study with local shamans for the better part of a decade. And yet, life still felt claustrophobic, and there was the gnawing sense that she was missing something. Real freedom finally came with a fundamental shift in identity and all the letting go that followed that shift.

She writes mostly about nonduality, meditation, consciousness, buddhism, and related subjects.
